The inspection of the racking: fundamental for safety

Marco CazzinIn depth Analysis, Laws and Racking

In the past few weeks, we have studied many points that regard the safety of storage systems.  To detect in advance all the damage and be able to intervene in perfect safety, it is necessary that an inspection that identifies all faults is done regularly.

The role of the safety manager

The safety manager (the PRSES) has the responsibility to establish the frequency of the inspections that must, however, be done regularly: the decision is made based on the multiple factors that vary from one installation to another, from one warehouse to another. Among the variables that must be taken into consideration are how many people work with the racking, which equipment is used and how statistically probable it is to find oneself in front of damage. The laws recommend one visual inspection weekly by the PRSES and one inspection every twelve months by a qualified consultant.
